February 2nd

Riders Report summary

*This is an overall summary. The Bighorns are a massive mountain range. Certain areas and elevations may vary greatly.

Previous*significant Storm: 01/12/25

Latest Storm: 01/12/25

Previous Snow Depth: 12-28”

Current Snow Depth: 20-55”

Snow Quality: Warm temps and lots of traffic means the fresh pow we two weeks is no more. Snow is still good though. Average conditions currently.

Avalanche Observations: Everything seems to be fairly stable currently, haven’t witnessed any slides recently, but that doesn’t mean they can’t happen. Snow is pretty set up.

Backcountry Conditions Rating: Still a great season. Looks to be a fairly warm and dry the next few days, but we have no complaints.

Trail Conditions: 8/10. Sounds like some mechanical problems with the groomers have limited their ability to groom everything. Most trails are in great shape with the odd rough spot or two.

Report Summary: The snow is setup. We call it hero snow which makes it great for exploring and climbing things. If you can find untracked snow, it’s pretty awesome still. 95% of our riding areas have plenty of snow.

Future Forecast: Looks like another shot of snow possibly on the 1st of February, but it’s looking pretty dry for awhile. 2nd week of February looks promising when the jet stream pattern changes.
